Origin of Antique-Style Teapots:
One theory suggests that the teapot was first created by Shao Daheng in the Qing Dynasty, originally intended to resemble a drum shape. Later, when people imitated this shape, it came to mean imitating ancient teapot designs. Another theory suggests that it was first seen in modern times by Zhao Songting, who made it at the behest of Wu Dazheng. It features a flat body, bulging belly, high neck, and smooth lid. The lid and rim fit together perfectly, forming a full, rounded shape.
