This round tea box is decorated only with black lines and uses the simplest lacquer technique. It is not gilded or sprinkled with mother-of-pearl, and has a warm and restrained temperament. It incorporates culture into the vessel and seeks the way of tea.
Lacquerware can be traced back to the Neolithic period, more than 7,000 years BC. It was later known as "Japan." Lacquerware production typically takes several months, following a process: wooden base → sanding → wrapping with hemp cloth → adjustments → filling with ash → applying black lacquer → applying a top coat of lacquer → applying an outer coat of lacquer. Natural lacquer forms a tough film on the surface of the base, which is moisture-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and wear-resistant, while also possessing a beautiful, soft luster. It not only provides protection but also decorates the object.
