Opinions vary as to why Shao Daheng named the teapot "Zhongde".
"Dezhong" is also known as "Zhongde". Like the drum, the bell is one of the oldest musical instruments in China, a synonym and symbol of music. The bell is a musical instrument used in rituals and music; its sound is used to praise the king's virtues. Respecting the Way and valuing virtue is the purpose of praising virtue.

Shao Daheng's creation should be the "Zhongde" teapot, for two reasons.

Firstly, the earliest written record of the "Zhongde" teapot is found in the book "Chinese Purple Clay," and the author is a senior potter. The written evaluations of Shao Daheng's teapots by authors published after 1998 are basically derived from Xu Xiutang's short commentary on Shao Daheng's "Zhongde" teapot in "Chinese Purple Clay."

Secondly, Gao Zhenyu wrote an article introducing Shao Daheng's "Zhongde" teapot. In the article, he described in detail the scene where Gu Jingzhou used the "Zhongde" teapot to educate him. Gao Zhenyu saw the "Zhongde" teapot in Gu Jingzhou's collection and heard Gu refer to it as a "Zhongde" teapot, and he highly praised Daheng's "Zhongde" teapot. In this article with pictures and text, Gao himself also commented on the "Zhongde" teapot. This further clearly explains why Shao Daheng's teapot is called a "Zhongde" teapot.
