Material: Zhao Zhuang Old Zhu Ni (a type of clay) Capacity: 200ml

Produced by Dayatang, crafted by renowned Zhu Ni master Qin Xun.

Zhu Ni clay is selective in its maker, and the maker is selective in its clay; most Zhu Ni masters will not make tea if they change the clay. Zhu Ni has a low firing rate and a small tolerance for kiln temperature; the clay has its own properties and should be made in accordance with nature. Therefore, compared to the dazzling brilliance of other Zisha teapots, Zhu Ni teapots have been passed down through the ages for their unassuming, simple shapes and minimalist lines, their unique traditional charm enduring through time!

Master Qin Xun was obsessed with making Zhuni teapots throughout his life, and his mastery of the spirit and charm of traditional shapes was unparalleled! Having immersed himself in Zhuni teapot making for many years, the owner of Dayatang recommends two classic Qin Xun shapes; this is the second one:

Pear-shaped pot

This is a classic shape from the Kangxi and Yongzheng periods. The pear shape is also the most classic shape of Zhuni teapot. It is said to have been created by Hui Mengchen and has been seen in various dynasties.
With its minimalist and understated lines, each line designed as a tangent to a circle, and a low center of gravity, this teapot boasts the most stable shape among round vessels. Its unassuming, plain form showcases the unique charm of the Zhu Ni teapot!

This small teapot has a slender and elegant spout with three bends, varying in thickness, commonly known as "beauty's legs," reflecting the unique aesthetic of the Qing Dynasty.

The Zhao Zhuang Zhu Ni teapot sits quietly and unassuming, its ancient charm growing stronger with use. When hot water is poured over the finished teapot, its delicate, vibrant red color immediately emerges, and a fleeting purple sheen appears on its surface.
Zhao Zhuang Zhu Ni is a rare and precious type of clay that is on the verge of extinction.

The vermilion is a subtle, understated red, not gaudy, but a steady color. It's dense and smooth, with beautiful flowing lines. It shrinks by about 28-30%, creating the unique, slightly wrinkled texture of the vermilion clay. Occasionally, black spots formed from iron deposits are visible, adding to its weathered appearance.
