Narcissus Veined Teapot
Narcissus Veined Teapot
Volume: Approximately 150 ml Weight: Approximately 130 g
"The fairy of the waves, her socks dusty, walks lightly on the water like a moonlit night." The narcissus, known as the fairy of the waves, is a classic subject in ribbed ware.
This teapot, produced by Dayatang, was crafted by Hong Jike, an inheritor of intangible cultural heritage. The ribs are finely and evenly divided, with the lid and body seamlessly connected by ribs. The teapot has a rounded shape and a slightly tapered base. It features a three-bend spout, an antique rosewood handle for heat protection, and a jade knob. The surface has been treated with sulfur to remove any superficial embellishments. As a narcissus-patterned teapot, the exquisite craftsmanship of this piece speaks for itself, while the ingenious design and interpretation of this traditional subject are truly remarkable.
The fairy of Lingbo possesses a pure and elegant demeanor, and an extraordinary and refined air.
Ribbed surface:
The design concept is mainly based on the veins and textures of plants, fruits, and petals, refined and created accordingly. Examples include melon ribs, chrysanthemums, magnolias, and daffodils. It is a kind of exquisite and orderly beauty derived from nature.
The use of ribbed patterns in ceramic forming and decoration can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty, or even earlier. For thousands of years, its pursuit and admiration have resonated strongly among artists and teapot enthusiasts.
Looking at Chinese artifacts, the ribbed texture effect is indeed an important cultural heritage in the design of Chinese tea wares, with its towering and solemn appearance, flowing and unhurried style, swaying and harmonious appearance, appropriate balance and free-flowing variation.
