Fulu pure silver teapot
Fulu pure silver teapot
This Fu Lu teapot is a product of Dayatang Intangible Cultural Heritage and was personally made by Hong Jike, a master teapot maker and inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of silver forging.
This sterling silver teapot seamlessly blends the aesthetic charm of silverware with the traditional Chinese Zisha (purple clay) "Duozhi" style. The shape is full and robust, simple and mellow, refined and understated. The spout is straight, retaining the distinctive shape of the Duozhi teapot. The knob is tall and elegant, with a jade knob and gold base; the handle is round and the wooden handle, designed to prevent burns, has a graceful curve.
The body of the pot is engraved with gourd vine patterns, symbolizing lasting good fortune. The gourd is gilded and inlaid with red copper.
The gourd, a homophone for "good fortune and prosperity," is a symbol of wealth and honor. Because it is a herbaceous plant, its stems are called "vines." The word "vine" is a homophone for "ten thousand," and "vines" is a homophone for "ten thousand generations." Therefore, "good fortune and prosperity" and "ten thousand generations" together constitute the complete blessings of "fortune, prosperity, and longevity," making it a symbol of good luck.
