Burmese carved flat-top table
Length: 153cm, Width: 48cm, Height: 82.5cm
This piece is modeled after a set of Qianlong-era court furniture in the style of arts and crafts. Made of Burmese rosewood, its color is translucent and deep, the grain clear, and the texture noble. Both its shape and decoration exude a dignified and solemn air. It features a mortise and tenon joint structure, with the tabletop inlaid with a single plank using mortise and tenon joints. The edges are smooth, the bottom edge is decorated with molding, and the mortise and tenon joints are visible at the ends. The spandrels are fully carved with cloud patterns, intricate yet elegant. The border is thick and plain, the carving is steady and precise, and the polishing is meticulous and disciplined.
The apron is a variant of the square ruyi head shape. Two horizontal stretchers are installed between the legs, with a ruyi board above them, decorated with raised raised lines.
The piece has four square legs with splayed feet. The middle of each leg bulges, with two opposing cloud patterns extending upwards and downwards in the shape of two incense sticks. The bottom of the legs on the sides also uses the same technique, intended to enhance decoration. The upper panels of both legs feature openwork carvings of upright ruyi cloud patterns, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail. The entire piece is ornately decorated, exuding an air of wealth and luxury.
