Da Bin Ruyi Three-Legged Pure Silver Teapot
Da Bin Ruyi Three-Legged Pure Silver Teapot
Volume: Approximately 170 ml Weight: Approximately 145 g
The design originated from Da Bin during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. Da Bin's style is simple and elegant with ingenious design. In his later period, the teapots became more varied, smaller, and more suitable for literati appreciation. Some of them are quite unique. By the early Qing Dynasty, during the Kangxi period, their works entered the imperial court.
This teapot, with its ruyi-patterned lid and three short legs, is a round, flattened spherical body. The lid is decorated with a four-petaled, symmetrical ruyi pattern, capturing the essence of the design. The jade handle and ebony handle, along with the plain body, have been treated with sulfur to remove any ostentation and add a touch of antiquity. From its design to its craftsmanship, it is truly exceptional. Produced by Dayatang, it was made by Hong Jike, a master craftsman of intangible cultural heritage. This teapot is a classic example of a skillfully crafted pure silver teapot.
