Lacquered and carved red incense table
Lacquered and carved red incense table
Period: Mid-Qing Dynasty; Material: Lacquer; Overall Length: 37cm; Width: 33cm; Height: 46cm
Desktop length: 30cm Width: 23cm
A mid-Qing dynasty lacquer incense stand with carved red lacquer, featuring a wooden frame, a high waist, and legs covered by a shawl-like apron. The legs are three-curved, with four outward-turning hoof feet resting on a base. The entire stand is carved red lacquer, thickly layered, with a high layer of black lacquer underneath. The surface is decorated with floral patterns, and the sides feature relief carvings of figures, stories, pavilions, bridges, and flowing water. The waisted panel is decorated with a relief carving of plum blossoms on a brocade background. The scenes are vivid, the carving dense yet orderly, exhibiting a disciplined and masterful style.
Due to its age, the paint has peeled off slightly, but it still retains a unique charm. The overall proportions are harmonious, shaped like a pedestal, and composed of three parts. The upper part has square sides with a framed frame and a central panel. The waist section features a begonia-shaped perforation. The legs curve inward and outward from top to bottom, finally resting on a base. The pedestal is of moderate thickness, supporting the four legs and blending harmoniously with the overall design.
The overall design is elegant and antique, with a dignified shape and beautiful lines. The craftsmanship is exquisite, making it extremely precious and giving people a sense of soaring and powerful visual beauty.
