This jade lotus-patterned famille rose covered bowl was painted by Xu Zhijun, a Qing Dynasty imperial kiln famille rose porcelain painting inheritor from Jingdezhen.
The rim and foot are decorated with gold to imitate the effect of cloisonné enamel on bronze. The lid is painted with lotus hearts, stamens, two layers of petals, and leaves from the knob outwards. The interior of the bowl is glazed white, the rim is decorated with lotus leaves, the body with triple lotus petal patterns, and the foot is painted in the shape of a lotus stem. The entire piece is vibrant in color and unique in form.
It is a rare variety among the imitations of Qing Dynasty Guangxu imperial porcelain.
