The box is fully carved, with meander patterns carved around the edges, a ruyi pattern and peony scrolls on each of the three corners on both sides, a round flower pattern carved in the center, and eight kui dragon patterns carved around the edges.
The long side of the perimeter is carved with a scene of the four seasons, while the short side is carved with a scene of the Eight Treasures. The patterns are exquisite, symmetrical, neat, and intricate.
The box has a mortise and tenon joint, a three-tiered design, and a base with a square-shaped scroll pattern.
