Sterling silver antique carved wine flask
This 19th-century Japanese sterling silver sake bottle, decorated with a scrolling floral design, possesses an oriental aesthetic while its technique is influenced by British methods. It features a rounded neck and flattened body with flowing lines. The neck and sides of the body are plain, gleaming with silver light. The center of the body is engraved with acanthus leaves, spiraling and naturally flowing, symbolizing tenacious and vigorous vitality. A plain rectangle on the upper right side of the body allows for the engraving of the owner's name, demonstrating meticulous craftsmanship.
The craftsmanship of this piece is extremely complex and exquisite. Li Fuming, an inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of silver forging in Yunnan, China, and Zhao Qingtao, the head of Dayatang, were amazed when they studied the carving techniques used in its production!
Since ancient times, silverware has been a prized possession of the wealthy and a symbol of power. This piece, dazzling in its brilliance and exceptionally rare, boasts exquisite carving techniques and retains its luster despite the passage of time!
