Copper-plated silver platform
Copper-plated silver platform
Made by Li Fuming, inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of silver forging techniques, produced by Dayatang.
Volume: Approximately 1000 ml Weight: Approximately 760 grams
Forged in fire, this red copper is handcrafted from a single piece of silver. It undergoes 40 quenchings and 150,000 forgings…
The design is extremely simple, with a spout formed by one piece, a pea-pod shaped iron handle, and three jade rings, exuding a restrained and antique elegance.
The waistline design in the shape of the vessel adds a restrained and simple charm.
Such "one-piece" works, except for the handle and lid, use only one piece of gold or silver for the rest of the teapot. Without fusion, they are crafted solely through meticulous hammering, a difficult and complex process. The rounded parts of the teapot, in particular, require tens of thousands of hammer blows to complete in one continuous motion. Although lacking intricate decorations and possessing a simple, unadorned appearance, its full shape and flowing lines are pleasing to the eye, revealing a restrained beauty.
The exquisite craftsmanship of Chinese silverware is unprecedented, and its simple beauty and harmonious Eastern style are also admired by contemporary tea drinkers.
This showcases Mr. Li Fuming's journey of exploration in design. His works and artistic vision are like the transformation of metal after being tempered and refined.
Reaching new heights, the coexistence of multiple techniques sets a benchmark and symbol for the highest level of silver teapot craftsmanship in China today.
Making a silver teapot, setting aside creativity, requires a significant investment of time and energy. From firing it dozens of times to repeated hammering and polishing, the entire process is done by hand.
