Copper-plated Silver Pine Bridge Silver Teapot
Copper-plated Silver Pine Bridge Silver Teapot
Capacity: Approximately 1100 ml Weight: Approximately 687 grams
The Copper-Plated Silver Pine Bridge Teapot was crafted by Li Fuming, a master teapot maker and inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage of silver forging, and is produced by Dayatang Intangible Cultural Heritage. The pine tree, symbolizing longevity and enduring vitality, is a symbol of long life, as the pine and cypress remain evergreen even in the coldest winter.
The entire teapot employs the copper-plated silver technique, resulting in a reddish-orange surface with a metallic luster. The copper's coloring is relatively controllable, while pure silver is odorless and can purify and soften water, enhancing the tea's flavor. Making a copper-plated silver teapot requires extremely sophisticated metalworking skills; the spout must also be crafted simultaneously, further testing the metalworker's craftsmanship. The body of the teapot is engraved with pine trees, mountain peaks, and other motifs. It utilizes the gold and silver inlay technique, one of the eight most renowned ancient Chinese metalworking techniques that once amazed the world, making the grains appear even more realistic and lifelike.
